Can I use a slim external dvd player via usb on my samsung tv?
I have got a Samsung LE22B541C4 22 inch white widescreen mounted on my kitchen wall. We have a young daughter who loves watching 'In the Night Garden' but our address doesn't receive freeview digital tv until the end of the year so we have been watching it on DVD instead but can only do this in the living room. I would like to get a dvd player that I can mount vertically on the wall in the kitchen and to save space it seems like a good idea if I buy an external dvd for a PC and then use the usb port on my tv to power it (thus reducing cables) I think that an external DVD player needs Windows to run but I'm not sure. Has anyone tried this or got any better suggestions?

I highly doubt it, the TV wouldn't be able to tell the DVD player to play, rewind and such.
