What size wheel and tire are ideal for a vintage Peugeot folding bike?
I found one that I'm trying to fix. It doesn't have the original wheels, so I'm trying to find replacements. I found that 24" wheels fit... without the tires. When they're on, the tires have no clearance below the fenders. The top would rub against the screw holding the fender on. What and where can I find replacement wheels and tires???
In response to needtoknow, I found pics of my bike online... I believe mine to be a 1972 NS22. It was on http://velospace.org/node/4944
It is the exact same bike. It has 22" wheels, which are hard to find. Any ideas for replacements???
Hi, what kind of bike is it? Do you happen to have pictures of it? I'm guessing it's a Peugeot Nouveau folding bicycle, give me your e-mail address so I can get in touch with you.
Update: Yes, I have the exact bike. The 22" (550a) wheels aren't sold in many bike shops in the U.S., unfortunately. But you can get them online here: http://www.sheldonbrown.com/harris/tires/490.html
What color is yours? Is everything else stock and working? Where did you find it?
