braze on front derailleur won't pass my outer chainring.?
I have it as high as it goes on the braze on the frame. It hits the back of the outer ring. Are there different size braze on derailleurs? I'm using an old Shimano 600 and a 2 ring 52 t outer ring newer shimano crankset. Do I need a different size bottom bracket spindle, A different size braze on front derailleur if they even make those, or a different crankset/size outer ring?
What sort of frame are you using? A mountain bike frame might have a braze on lower on the seat tube that a road bike frame because mountain bikes use much smaller big chainrings than road bikes. The same is true of cyclocross and touring bikes.
