why do hotels rip you off at every opportunity?
have just returned from weekend trip away. Why is it when you are in a hotel they feel the need to charge ridiculous prices for everything. Afternoon tea was £16.50 each. Breakfast was £22.50 each and as for the mini bar (I won't even go there). I don't understand their reasoning, surely if hoteliers charged reasonable prices more people would use their facilities and not walk across the road like me and many others. Am I missing something here.
it was 4 star hotel. Surely if they charged reasonable prices more people would use facilities and they would make bigger profit. Doesn't make sense to me to rip off your customers so openly.
They charge you what they can get away with. Frankly that is the case in everything. Yes, there is some expense involved in everything...especially with it comes to food and food service. You have to figure in the cost of the food, the employees it takes to make the food and the equipment as well as utilities....but when it comes down too it most places make an incredible amount of profit from the smallest items. Look at sports venues, they charge an awful amount for a soft drink when it cost's pennies to make & serve. You just have to really watch your bill and make sure you are not charged for anything you do not use & feel free to write a professional well-versed letter to the management about their horriable prices.
