Racer Complete 19

need help on math questions i dont get them?

19.it takes the planet mercury 58.6 days to turn 360* on its axis a]how many degrees does it turn in 14.65 days b]how many degrees does it turn in 175.8h joe fireball in his 1935 moonbeam racer covered the same 192km course on 3 different days. complete the table then find his average speed for the 3 runs day1[speed] time[3h] day2 [96km/h] time day3 speed time [4h] please show work

a) The ratio of number of days wanted over total number of days is the same as the ratio of the angle wanted (lets call it x) over the total rotation.
So 14.65/58.6=x/360*
Meaning x=360*14.65/58.6=90*
b) Firstly convert 175.8h into days. Then use the previous method (You must assume we're using earth days!)
So 175.8h=175.8/24=7.325 days
So 7.325/58.6=y/360*
y=360*7.325/58.6=45*

For the next question, use the equation speed=distance/time. You are given the distance for all of them, which is 192km, then you are given one of the other factors, meaning you can calculate the remaining one. (We assume a constant speed is maintained)
Day1: s=? t=3 d=192
s=192/3=64 km/h
Day 2: s=96 t=? d=192
96=192/t
so t=192/96=2h
Day 3: s=? t=4 d=192
s=192/4=48 km/h
Now to calculate the average speed, you add up the speeds for each day, then divide by the total number of days (for the mean speed anyway.)
Av=(48+96+64)/3=208/3=69.333333333333333...km/h
Hope that helps :)
