I my 7 week old baby getting enough breast milk?
My boy has been nursing great for 5 weeks, on occasions he would lick me for the first minute. I thought that was normal though. The past 2 weeks though he has been changing a lot in nursing. He will sometimes shake his head before latching on and only nurses for 10 minutes max. (That is only on one side and without burping) Now at 7 weeks he isn't eating as frequent. He was eating ever 2-3 hours. Then at night he went 5 hours and 2-3 during the day. But now he is going roughly 5-7 hours during the night and day! His latching on isn't doing so well either. He shakes his head and sometimes cries before he even latches on. I think he has a lot of gas, but could that be the problem? He has had gas for awhile. Why now? He was doing great before.
My milk seems to be slowing down too because of the time changing I think. My nursing pads are completely dry and I don't drip before he latches on, nor spray like I use to. Do I need to start formula feeding my son? =[

At 7 weeks your supply was hormone driven and now it is probably supply and demand which is why you are not soaking thru the pads.
He could just be getting frustrated when he tries to latch which is causing the shaken of his head.
If he is going 5-7 hours at night without eating you will want to start pumping so your supply does not take a hit like it seems it is starting too.
If your latch is not going well perhaps you can consult the LC at the hospital you delivered out of. A lot of the times they will allow you to make follow up visits.
Your milk supply is not affected by the change in the time that’s just silly.
You can use mylicon drops for gas they work wonderful and perhaps watch your food intake and avoid gassy foods like broccoli
How many wet diapers is he making he should be making 7-8 wet and 2-3 poo’s.
