My cat is peeing all over the house?
Okay,,i am a cat pro...i can answer alot of peoples questions but i am at my wits end here not knowing what to do.
My 15 yr old cat is fixed since he was 5 months old. The last year he is spraying on everything in my house. ...beds..doors and couches...my house is covered in puppy pads and waterproof mattress pads.
If it were just in one spot i could possibly get a grip on this.
He is a crf cat..he does get sub q fluids but this started before the fluids.
Because of the crf he gets blood work and urinalysis at least every 3 months...this is not physical it's behavorial. Nothing in my house has changed. His litter boxes are clean with the same litter i have always used.
I just don't know what to do..i will not lock him in a room.
Tonight he went over and squatted and peed all over his basket of toys.
I just cant figure this out. Any suggestions?
Again,,it is not a uti and my cat has a COMPLETE..cbc and chem screen done often so it is not physical.
A few different thoughts here. My own experience with a cat doing that, even right in front of me, was when he was very stressed (from another cat being allowed in the house). But I suspect any major stress, physical or emotional, might have that effect. You mentioned both spraying and peeing. I think of spraying as being a statement of something emotional or psychological if it's inside the house. I looked at a few sites on internet, as you probably have, and see possible causes being uti, diabetes, hormonal changes. I saw one site that might be helpful to you in general, a lot of information and a support group for people with cats with crf. I'll leave out the dots, so yahoo will hopefully let me print it. The site is wwwfelinecrforg. I hope you can get to the cause and cure. This must be stressing you out too! Good luck to you and your kitty!
