smaller road bike cog setup better? or worse?
my uncle built me my first fixie awhile ago and i think my set up for the chain ring and cog is 29(?[not too sure])-13.
so i hear that having the smallest for the rear cog allows for more speed but is also harder to lock up for skidding.
i can skid pretty consistently now, except at high speeds.
and i also heard that smaller cogs are for more experienced riders.
i just wanted to know pros and cons for smaller cogs.
thanks
if your runnin a 13 in the back you can only go to a 12 or 11. it will give you a lil more speed not much though. shouldn't be much harder to stop than what you have now. if you want to get more speed change to chainring in the front to a larger ring like 36 or 39.
