What tools would you want in a "survival tool kit"?
Basicly, in the scenario I envision, I must be able to perform these tasks:
A. set up base camp, clear brush, obtain fire wood, drive 20-25 1.25 pipe in ground attach pitcher pump.
B. minor mechanical repairs to deisel truck, generator. Battery starter etc.
C. Be able to cut chain link, chain, locks etc. while scrounging.
D. Maintain weapons, other tools.
On my list of tools is: Tool bag, Small Stanley 3/8 ratchet, socket set with Allen wrenchs and driver handle with assorted driver bit and Torx bits.
Basic Metric and SAE wrenchs.
Wonder Bar.(its a flat pry bar and nail puller)
Multi-Tool, basic Leatherman model.
Hammer.(either framing hammer or mini-maul hammer. undecided)
1 pipe wrench, 2 adjustible wrenchs, Channel Locks, Vice Grips
Loppers, Bolt cutters
Glock E-tool
Cold Steel "Trail Hawk" tomahawk
I hope you don't plan on carrying all that in a backpack?
mine would be:
a Nepalese Kukri with the Karda and Charmak
a 21" bucksaw blade(with the kukri and saw, I can make a wooden mallet and a digging stick)
a small essentials ratchet and wrench set(idk anything about the size nuts and bolts for an engine)
a pair of small bolt cutters(if I need bigger, I likely shouldn't be going in there)
a torx and allen wrench set, fold into handle type.
small screwdriver set.
my fire kit(lighter, magnesium bar firesteel, dryer lint, matches, steel wool)
a 6X8' heavy duty tarp
side note: why do you need a water pump in the woods?
look for a river or stream to get water from, not from underground, way too much work for a "survival" situation.
Norinco vs. Armscor
