Has anyone given birth to a child with an extra digit on their hand?
I'm 31 weeks pregnant and found out my baby girl has an extra digit on her left hand. The Dr in charge of the ultrasound assured me it was a common trait (the baby's father's father actually had an extra digit at birth). I was told it would be removed before we left the hospital and removal is as simple as tying a string around the extra digit to cut off the circulation until it falls off. I am not stressed out about the issue.. Just want to know if anyone else has had a child born with an exra digit and if so, once it was removed, how long was healing time and are there noticable scars?
I have a friend who had an extra finger removed. But I can't even notice it unless I looked very hard. There is only a very faint scar. I can't tell you how long it took to heal because I wasn't there when he was that young. But it shouldn't be much of a problem.
