Need someone who knows about car financing, how to sell my car?
Basically I realize my stupidity in buying a new car as a college student, and now I wanna get out of this hole I have dug myself.
Here's the story, I bought a 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee last summer for $16,000. I have the loan down to $11,500 as of today. I have repaired one of the side panels, and installed a fancy alarm on it w/ proximity sensors/remote keyless startup/etc. It has a few minor scratches from kids/people who don't like me towards the rear of the vehicle (I live in an apartment complex). It is a V6 and not the SRT/racer edition.
How much do you think I could sell it for? I would be happy just paying off my loan ($11,500), but any higher would be nice to leave me some leftovers to get back on my feet. How should I go about selling my car? Dealer? Private party?
Another option for you is to sign your car up for rental. There's a company that handle car rental insurance and will actually find quality renters for your car, so that your car can pay for itself until you get back on your feet. Hope this helps.
