Heavy Duty 31

Jeep Wrangler Body Lift?

i have a 99 wrangler with a 5 speed. i want to lift it but suspension lifts seem to cause some problems witht the driveline and i dont think i do enough offroading to have to upgrade to that. but i want a litle more clearance for my 31 inch tires and maybe put on 32s. i go offroad everyso often but i dont have a chance to do it like heavy duty?

so would a 2 or 3 inch body lift be a good idea for my situation?
would u not recomend one?
wat problems may i incounter?
and overall any other info would be appreciated

and if u have a bodylift or ur a mechanic list that as a source

Body lifts greater than 1" might be cheap, but they create a huge number of problems. First, the radiator will have to be moved in order for it to maintain the intended cooling capacity. The gear shift linkages will have to be modified as well as the transfer case linkages.

If you want to swing slightly bigger tires without much work, a 1 3/4 inch budget boost with spring spacers that fit between the spring and the frame is a much smarter choice. This will get you the room you need to swing those 32" tires. If you need 33" tires, then add the 1" body lift.

If you are looking for eventually going to a 33" tire, go ahead and get the 3" coil spring lift with new shocks. With a manual tranny, you will not need to worry about needing to get a new drive shaft or modifying the transfer case.

If you have a 4-banger with a soft top, there is a trick where you can use factory springs from a 6 cyl. TJ factory equipped with a hard top. Those springs will get you another inch of lift in addition to the 1 3/4" budget boost lift.
