mtb ? about a good freeride fork and shock?
i was looking at the following forks
2006 marzocchi z-1 sl
2008 or 09 marzocchi 55
shocks
Fox dhx5.0 coil
Marzocchi roco world cup
or possibly a manitou but idk
im looking to upgrade im currently riding a marzocchi drop off 3 wich is decent and a manitou metel wich i like b/c it doesnt compress untill like 70% of my weight is on it or something like that, i like to go fast so i want some good pedaling efficiency, i like to freeride and downhill and i hit some 10-15 foot drops and 20-25 foot jumps so i want something that wont eat up my speed and air but is plush and a good freeride fork that can take a hit and has a good amount of adjustability, wich should i get, or suggestions
I'd go with the 55 over the z-1 without a doubt. A 55ATA would do you right. Honestly though, if you're going that big you should just look at the 66 ATA. I've got one on my bullit and its sick.
For the shock, I'd go with ROCO WC too. I've ridden both the DHX 5.0 & the ROCO WC and they're really about the same. I have a ROCO on my DH bike but a 5.0 on the bullit and they're both sick. I'd say it all really depends on whether or not you want the "propedal" switch... if so, go with the Fox. I didnt care for it and had it removed when I got mine push'd but some people love 'em.
