Are there any upgrades i could purchase (within reason, im not rich lol) or any changes i could make to the setup

The first place to start is with your crank. It is quite heavy, so I would consider a ISIS set up or Hollowtec. You can get an LX set or Deore, which weigh about 800g for £60.

The brakes will need replacing with a decent set, so allow about £200 for hydraulic discs.

Kenda 2.3s are a bit heavy and slow. I would change for Panaracer Fire XC Pro - 1.8.

New seat post. Richley or Easton.

Charge Spoon Saddle, £20

Shorter stem and Bars. Go for Monkeylight Riser bar £30 and and EA70 stem, sy £70 as a pair.

Peddles. Shimanoe PD520 and shoes (£50 for shoes and peddles).

The above is a wish list. However, the three I would recommend are the tyres (£20 per pair for entry level). Add slime to your tubes as well. The shoes and peddles. This will radically improve your riding. The Chainset £60, basically for the weight. However, this is your bike and you should ride it until you find out what you really don't like about it.

Luck
