Derailleur Set 15

How much nicer shifting is the Shimono 10 speed 105 rear derailleur vs. the Shimano Ultegra sl rear derailleur?

I know that the Ultegra is lighter but besides that I am interested in performance. I have a Cannondale synapse 5 alloy with an ultegra chrank set. The rest of the bike is stock.

Is it worth it to upgrade now or wait.

I have only road 200 miles... but I have had the bike for less then 1 week. Most of my rides are 15 -30 with 1- 60 mile ride under my belt. This is my first road bike and I am happy with it.

I am coming from a full suspension Specialized Endure SL Comp and my commuter bike which is a Specialized Hard Rock with smooth tires.

Thanks for your help!

Keep the 105s on the bike.Since you just got the bike, components are still new and is not worth it.
If you have some malfunctioning problems, feel free to upgrade.
There is not much shifting difference between 105s and Ultegra and Ultegra SL as long as you clean and lubricate the drivetrain.
There is a pretty big amount of weight different between the 105s and Ultegra. Between Ultegra and the SL models, there are just 15-40 grams different for every component. Which isn't alot.

It was pretty good to upgrade you crankset to Ultegra. The stock FSA cranksset is horrible.

You might want to upgrade the breakset/calipers to 105s. The stock breaksets are not good. The 105s breaksets will get you alot better stopping power.

To be honest, if you upgrade anything else, it won't be worth it because it is a alloy frame. Even some stock carbon frame bikes have 105s.

"Peter Griffin", the Ultegra SL doesn't look that bad.
