This could similar to Jackie Robinson when many teams are honored him last year when 1947 that Jackie broke the color barrier. The Los Angeles Dodgers retired his number then in 1997 as the league retired 42.

The thing I find most ironic about O'Ree is that the Bruins were the 1st in hockey to break the barrier and the Red Sox in 1959 were the last in baseball.
