Coloured Cycle 10

Birth Control Pill? Can you help clarify me on this cycle?

Ok. So I began taking them June 10, the Sunday after my period began (on Saturday) , just like the Dr. instructed me to.
I had just gotten the pills, and waited until my period began, just as instructed. First time ever taking pills.
Anyway, began taking the green round of the Ortho TriCycle pills, for the end of my menstrual cycle, just as she told me. Once my period & the green round was over, I began the strongest dose of the pack, the two other colors, in order of course. This entire pack ended two days ago, Saturday July 7. So my period was supposed to be coming along, so I began the whole thing over again, began taking green pills of the new pack. Once my period week is over, I begin taking my strong doses, just like last month. Can anyone clarify this to me? Does this sound correct? (Also, someone said that I need to take one full pack to begin to prevent pregnancy, and I had not waited one pack to begin intercourse, because I simply didn't know this. I took test, not preg.)

Okay, deep breath, and relax. I am on tri-cyclen-lo, myself. Just keep taking them in order regardless of whether you get your period or not.
It takes 3 months, minimum for your body to adjust to a new birth control pill. Just keep taking them in order of pills, starting with the white, the Sunday after your period starts. Don't skip any pills, and take them as close to the same time every day. (I take mine right after my morning shower.) Same time. Every day. If you get into a habit of taking them at say 6:30AM, and then forget until 10 one day, that can even cause your period to start early. Your body will think that it is missing hormones and you just forgot for a few hours. If you are really worried, go to your Dr. they can do a blood test. If all else fails, after 3 months if your cycles aren't straightening themselves out, then this pill may not be the right one for you. You can switch, there are a lot of different kinds. Good luck, you probably just need to give it a little more time. It can take a few days after that last pill for your cycle to start also.

A pregnancy test will not show that you are pregnant most of the time by 2 days passed the day you are supposed to start a new cycle. It usually takes longer than that, believe me, I've taken a lot of them while trying to conceive.
