Brake Rotors 38

Is it normal for rear brakes to need repalcement before fronts on a brand NEW FORD FREESTAR minivan @25,000?

my wife drives it, 1/2 highway and 1/2 city.
Rear brakes were squeaking around 24,000 miles.
Took it into dealer and they performed service:
-inspect front brakes, rotors warped (NO CHARGE)
-reface front rotors, test good before cut 32.22mm
after cut 31.6 (NO CHARGE)
-inspect brake shoes / pad assemblies (NO CHARGE)

-rear brake service / break job / brake shoe and lining ($230.38)

Does this seem right? Shouldn't this be warranty? The warped front rotors were. I've had other FORD vehicles, F150, and Windstar and taken them to 40,000 miles with no problem. My Dad has the same Freestar and he is at 42,000 with no problems.
My wife drove the Windstar and he habits haven't changed. She doesn't abuse the brakes either.

Any educated respones are appreciated!!!!!!!!!!!!

On Chevys it seems the front breaks go out 3 times before the rear. At least on pickups.

That jives with Lady in reds answer above because on a pick up the weight is in front.

Breaks are not warranty because they are made to wear out.

Here is the thing. I just bought breaks 2 days ago. I spent $24 for a set of break pads that is 2 wheels. Another $4.00 on lube and break fluid.

It took about 20 min. to change because I was being slow. Easy as can be. You can take you roters to the autozone (or whatever) and have them turned for about $10 or buy new roaters for $35-40 each.

Learn how to do it yourself and save a bundle.

Plus at autozone they have lifetime warenty pads. You will only buy them once then they are free. Change them every year. No big deal, a child could do it.
