Bike Black 42

Sprocket kit?

I need new sprockets and I want to gear the bike slightly while I'm at it.

Ideally, I would like to keep the stock 17teeth on the front sprocket and go up to 45 teeth on the back (stock is 42 I believe). I would like steel on the rear and don't really care about the color (as long as it's silver or black), all the kits come with a 520 chain, I still have a 530 on there now, but I think a 520 is strong enough and it really doesn't matter either way on that to me.

Should I buy a set, or buy a chain and two sprockets?

Can anyone show me a good site or a good set to help me figure this out?

I already have a manual and a stand, but once I install the sprockets how do I align them? and how do I make sure my ajuster bolts on the swingarm are perfectly parallel?

Thanks a lot for any help!

oh yeah, It's an 03' GSX-R 1000

Go to Motoheaven.com, they sell Thrust Company sprockets. I have them on my bike and I have had no problems at all. The sprocket kits come with both sprockets and the chain. The sprockets are very tough. They come in a few different configurations depending on how you ride (street, street/stunt, and full stunt). Where the sprockets go is where they go. Once you have them bolted on there just make sure your rear wheel alignment is correct or the rear sprocket will be off. There are tick marks on the swing arm that you align the axle blocks to. I would use a set of calipers or a good tape measure to align them. Measure from the end of the axle block to the end of the swing arm. don't over tighten the chain, this will cause premature wearing of the chain and sprockets.
