It’s not that I’m so smart, it’s just that I stay with problems longer
-Albert Einstein
If there is one common trait among every successful person, it is perseverance. The ability to keep going despite of obstacles. Sometimes we are challenged by whatever force governs us, to see if we truly want what we truly want.
There are certain things a person can do in order to develop perseverance.
Your Desire Must Be Strong
First, you have to make a decision on what it is you truly want. And once you’ve made that decision, you have to know deep down inside that you will stop at nothing until you achieve it. Making a “true” decision is something we feel deep down to our bones. When we feel discouraged, it is our ability to tap into that desire that will keep us going.
Make A Plan And Apply Continuous Action
The most powerful secret of success is habit. We become our actions. If we want to become a writer, the secret is simply just to write, then write and then write some more. Once we have our desire, make a plan with a deadline to achieve it. If you fail at one point, just consider it a “temporary” setback and go on. Really, all you gotta do is stick with a goal until you’ve achieved it.
Constant Reminders Of What You’re Trying To Achieve
There are several ways you can remind yourself of the goals you’re trying to achieve. Write it down often! Put it on post it note, make it a password, name your pets after your goals, anything! Tell everyone about your goals, twitter it!
Another effective reminder is to have a mastermind group. One or more person with you sharing your goals. When the challenges start coming, and they will, your mastermind group can help remind you why you’re here in the first place.
One of the greatest feelings in the world is achieving a goal that you’ve invested a lot of time in. You start to understand why everything had to happen the way it had to.
And you feel awesome about yourself because you were able to persevere with those problems a little longer.
What are some ways you like to remind yourself of your goals?
