Why Bars And Clubs Are Some Of The Best Places To Find Spiritual Enlightenment

Every night, bars and clubs are packed with people looking for friendship and romance. Egos and physical features are on display as we try to look for either Mr Or Ms. Right (Now). Sometimes, going to a bar can feel like a big waste of time. But done correctly, it can actually be a tool for spiritual enlightenment.

(1) The Massive Randomness Of Stimuli

With the large amount of people in one space, behaviors can range from disgustingly rude to life-changing warmheartedness. People can act in so many different ways. A club really gives you an opportunity to push yourself out of your comfort zone. With the flashing lights, overpriced alcohol and loud music, bars and clubs can be a very challenging place to find connections.  Whether people are insulting you to your face or  a group is welcoming you with their warmth, anything can happen. After a while, you feel like you’re ready for anything.

(2) Connection

Nothing compares to being able to connect with a group or an individual in a place  filled with deterrents to a decent conversation. In order to create connections, we have to let go of our own judgements and just have fun. We can drop down our guard and listen to what the other person’s saying, despite the random stimuli. After looking around, you realize everyone is there for the exact same reason. Which is to have a great time! Realizing this, we can let go of our own insecurities and enjoy each other’s company.

(3) Nothing Is A Big Deal

Spiritual Enlightenment to me is all about feeling comfortable and thankful for yourself and what you have. At a bar, you realize the impermanence of events. Some of the people you meet, you might know anywhere from five seconds to two days to a lifetime. Spilled drinks or makeout sessions only lasts for so long, until something else comes along. I know one of the beliefs that helps me meet new people is that most of these people around me, I will never see again. So I am free to act whichever way I want. After seeing certain things happen, you realize nothing is a big deal.

So next time your out with your friends, having a great time, meeting new people, know that you are finding spiritual enlightenment.

what are some of your funniest bar memories?
