How To Use Your Words To Change Your World

The words we attach to our experience become our experience

-Anthony Robbins

So I was thinking the other day why I am naturally just more optimistic than most people. I don’t drink or do drugs so it isn’t outside substances. My normal everyday experience isn’t different than most peoples. I have everyday errands and responsibilities I take care of, like everyone else. So what is it?

Then it hit me!

Since I consciously try not to complain about a lot of things, my vocabulary is always more positive. When people ask me how I am, I say things like “I AM AWESOME!”. And I’ve realized that because of the positive way I describe things, my days tend to be a lot brighter. So if we want to change our lives for the better, we need to constantly look for new words to say and be aware of the vocabulary we are using right now.

As an experiment for the next 7 days, whenever you find yourself using a disempowering word, simply change it.

The Simplicity of Empowering Words

instead of saying anxiety, use excitement

instead of saying depressed, use a little frustrated

instead of saying insulted use misinterpreted

instead of saying jealous use overloving

Going from ok to AWESOME

instead of saying confident, use unstoppable

instead of saying motivated, use compelled

instead of saying no problem, use spectacular

instead of saying okay, say perfect!

Another thing you’ll notice is you start to say similar things to the people you hangout with. Well this goes both ways, so when you start changing your own vocabulary, you will notice a difference in the people around you as well.

Also, it is ok to feel angry at something. But the key is to avoid using it as a first resort. Being mindful of the situation and using the proper words can do a lot in making an effective decision when it comes to different situations.

Nowadays, people don’t take enough responsibility for the way they feel. The words we use truly do affect the way we live. One of the great things about being aware of our vocabulary is that it’s really simple. Being aware of the words we use and changing them when necessary can make a big difference in our lives.

    Rocky,

It is great you think always positive, if you read very popular book “secret”, which has similar saying, whatever you think and feel, it happens to you, so positive things may happen to you.

You got great site here, hope you meet your goals.
