help in math problem...?
gold has a density of 19.32 grams per cubic centimeter.
A.if you have what you think is a ring of pure gold and it has a volume of 3 cubic centimeters.how much mass should it have?
B.if you have what you think is a ring of pure gold and it has a volume of mass of 8 grams centimeters, what should its volume be?
C.18 karat gold means that the gold is mixed with other alloys.(18 karat gold is 75%gold and 25%other alloys.) if a piece of jewelry was 14 karat gold .what percent of it is gold?
Dsuppose a 9 karat gold ringwas made with gold and silver
.silver has a denisty of 10.49 grams per cubic centimeter ,how much mass should the ring have if it has a volume of 4 cubic cm?
A 3*19.32 = 57.96
B what? assuming you mean mass = 8 grams (not gram centimeter... that unit doesn't exist), then volume of 8/19.32=0.41 cubic cemtimeter
C 100% = 24 carat because 18/24=75%
14/24 = 58%
D you don't know since the density of the alloy sin't the average of both densities... but assuming it WAS (It is NOT, but you can't give any answer if you don't make that asumption), then 9 carat = 37.5% gold and 62.5% silver makes a density of the alloy of 10.49 * 62.5 % + 19.32*37.5% = 6.55625 + 7.245 = 13.80
therefore mass of 13.80*4 = 55.2 grams
